Yorkshire Walling Stone
We have large stocks of both new and old Yorkshire walling
stone.
The new stone is mainly random re-dressed or newly–dressed
walling stone in random courses varying from 50mm to 300mm.
The majority of the reclaimed Yorkshire walling is in random
course sizes varying from 75mm to 200mm.
The variety of
Yorkshire stone ranges from pitched and clean-cut delph (local
to the West Yorkshire area) to punched faced, pitch-faced,
flat-faced yorkstone fine-grained and gritstone.
Yorkstone is
sedimentary sandstone, which means the predominant colour is a
sandy buff colour, although being a natural stone it can vary. Indeed we do have some old stone that has a slight pink
colour. Reclaimed stone has usually weathered to a darker
shade of its original colour.
